Konnichiwa!
Nice to meet you! I'm Tisha. I'm a bi-lingual 4th Kyu Kimono master based here in Tokyo. I'm internationally licensed by the Kyoto Kimono Art Culture Association to share Kimono culture, and I'm also a graduate of the Ecole De Paris International Make-up school. Looking forward to sharing a kimono experience with you!

How is Blossom Kimono different?

1. We take our time with you.
One of the issues we have found with the touristy Kimono dressing experience is that oftentimes the dresser focuses on quantity of people instead of quality of experience. At Blossom, we take our time to give you a real and human experience. Instead of just rushing you through the dressing process, taking a few quick pictures and then moving onto the next person, we take a minimal number of dressings per day. We want to give you the time you need to enjoy the experience and not just rush you back into your street clothes after a few photos.
2. We specialize in comfortable Kimono dressing.
Letting you really have the chance to wear the Kimono goes hand-in-hand with being able to wear it comfortably. Many kimono dressers focus on tying the Kimono tightly to stay pristine for photos. This is always at the expense of the comfort of the wearer. At Blossom, all of our Kimono dressers are true Kimono lovers and people who regularly wear Kimono themselves. As such, we all know how to tie them comfortably and firmly believe in the comfort of the wearer first.
3. We offer customizable programs and Japanese cultural experiences

Why go all the way to the Tourist parts of town for a kimono experience when we can come to you? Why just take photos when you can make memories with cultural experiences like a Japanese Tea Ceremony, or traditional Japanese cooking?

4. Our Kimono dressers are English-speakers
One other thing we do to streamline your Kimono dressing experience is focusing on English-speaking Kimono dressers. In doing so, we can ensure your communication is always smooth and natural. Additionally, all of our Kimono dressers are certified experts in their fields and are happy to share this expertise with you as they dress you.
5. We are LGBTQ+ friendly and have larger sized Kimono.
As an item of traditional clothing in Japan, oftentimes Kimono in larger sizes can be hard to come by. For the westerners with a larger frame than the average Japanese person, this can make finding Kimono in your size a challenge. This is particularly the case for both CIS and Trans western women. At Blossom Kimono we focused on building up a selection of Kimono that can work for people who naturally have a larger frame. We have both custom-made mens and women’s Kimono for people over 6ft and dressers that know how to dress for them. We are also 100% LGBTQ+ inclusive and some of our Kimono dressers are on the LGBTQ+ spectrum themselves.
If you are either visiting Tokyo, or just looking for a unique and personal cultural experience, we are here for you.
We hope to see you soon!
